Roger Alan Pick: Brief Biography

Dr. Roger Alan Pick is Professor Emeritus of Management Information Systems at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) where he has been since 1993. A veteran college teacher, he has taught at Purdue University, University of Wisconsin - Madison, University of Cincinnati, Louisiana Tech University, and UMKC. His primary teaching assignment was management of information technology, but he has taught many other courses in information systems including computer applications, programming, data management, analysis and design, and decision support. as well as some courses in mathematics and management science (analytics). His research interests are in decision support systems, model management, information technology economics, and information systems policy issues. His articles on these topics have appeared in Communications of the ACM, Management Science, Journal of MIS, Decision Support Systems, IEEE Transactions, Information and Management, and numerous other outlets. He earned a doctorate from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University in 1984. He also earned an M.S. in mathematics from Purdue in 1979 and a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in 1977. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, INFORMS, and the American Association of University Professors. He was born in Ithaca, New York. He lives with his wife on the shores of Lakewood Lake in Lee's Summit, MO. Their three children are now adults.

According to scholar.google.com, his articles have been cited over 500 times, and the h-index for his career output is 14 (meaning that at least 14 of his papers have been cited 14 or more times).
