In your groups, discuss your understanding of the water cycle by answering the following questions:

 

How are clouds formed? 


What is rain?



 

Describe what the earth looks like right after it rains or storms.

                     

What happens to rain puddles after the sun comes out? 



Think about the last time it rained at your house or while you were in a car. 


When the windows get wet on the outside from the rain, what happens to the inside of the windows?




Group Work


STEP ONE:
Group Member 1: Collect a beaker and fill it with ice water.  

STEP TWO:

Group Member 2: Set in the container in your group's holder by the window. Observe the beaker without touching it. Use the classroom clock to time the group one minute.

STEP THREE:
Group Member 3:  After the time is up, observe any changes to the beaker or the water.  Touch the outside of the beaker.  Discuss what happened to the outside of the beaker and describe below.

 

STEP ONE:
Group Member 3: Collect a measurement beaker and fill it with the room temperature water and let your group observe it.

STEP TWO:
Group Member 1: Place the beaker safely in your group's holder near the window.

STEP THREE:
Group Member 2:  Discuss with your group what you think will happen to the water inside the beaker over time.  Write your predictions below.  Hint:  think about what happens to a puddle when the sun comes out.
