Name(s):

STEP ONE:  Collect one "cutout" from each of the plant part containers.  Write your plant part with the appropriate label.  (For example if you draw lettuce, you would write "lettuce" by the word leaf below.)

root
seed
stem
leaf
flower/fruit

STEP TWO:  Build your own salad by gluing your parts into the salad bowl page provided.

STEP THREE:  Label your salad with the parts of the plants terms we've learned.

STEP FOUR: Answer the following questions:

Would you like to eat a real version of the salad you made?

The class will discuss the difference in taste and preferences as they answer questions such as,
"How would your salad taste if I replaced the carrot for an onion for your root part?"
