·       “Miles would sometimes get mad at Hank, who generally took awhile to get his sound together ... Hank would squeak or fluff, and Miles would pantomime (at the bar) an act of hitting Hank over the head with his trumpet.”[1]

 

·       “When Hank Mobley came to the Camelot one day, looking for Blakey, “I was there alone, listening to one of Art's record's,” Royal said.  “Wayne Shorter was playing.”

“Mobley said, 'Who is that?'

“I said, 'Wayne Shoter.'”
